9. Thompson’s wandering fleabane, Erigeron peregrinus ssp. peregrinus var. thompsonii

             This daisy is the only one of our endemic flowers not found in the subalpine and alpine zones.  It has been found only in lowland sphagnum bogs in the southwest section of the peninsula.  Of course, it also looks almost exactly the 9 other members of the genus Erigeron found on the Olympic Peninsula.  It may help that it is the only fleabane found in Olympic bogs (although a naturalized one, Erigeron annuus,  lives in moist environments).
